Paul Langan New Book Release - The True Story of the 1899 Shipwreck of the "Scotsman"
Canadian Author Paul Langan has released his 12th book titled, The True Story of the 1899 Shipwreck of the “Scotsman”. The tragedy happened at Belle Isle between Newfoundland and Labrador.
The “Scotsman” ocean liner slammed into Belle Isle off the northern coast of Newfoundland, September 22nd, 1899. This tragic shipwreck turned even more devastating as firemen on the crew, hired on as “scabs” in England, began a drunken rampage and robbed passengers of their belongings.
Stranded in the harsh climate of Belle Isle, men, women and children fought to survive. In the end, 24 people lost their lives.
This harrowing tale is a classic in Canadian maritime history.
Included are interviews with shipwreck survivors, newspaper accounts, rare photos and the official report related to the event.
The book is 72 pages, 6x9 paperback format. It is available November 15th, 2022, worldwide through Amazon or locally through the author or Wordsworth Books Waterloo Ontario.

We are excited to announce that author Tara Mondou will be releasing her latest book, Me and My Shadow - Tara's Story on November 19th, 2022. She will have a book release event in Stratford on Nov 19 and one in Cambridge on Nov 27. Details below.
From the Author of “Little Girl in the Mirror”, comes the continuation of four generations of women finding their way to each other on a journey through innocence, acknowledgment, understanding, love, and ultimately, forgiveness.
Cathy Barron, the “Little Girl in the Mirror”, finally breaks free from the horrible Mrs. Wrenn and now, twenty years later, the story continues with Cathy’s daughter, Tara—a beyond-her-years bright young girl who is now old enough to spend summers in Stratford with her grandmother, Rita.
At the end of every visit, Tara becomes aware of growing tension between her mother and her grandmother; the two women she loves the most. Behind closed doors, her mom shares stories of her miserable childhood, but Gramma denies them all.
Tara desperately wants to know why her mom is so angry at Gramma, but the more questions Tara asks, the more shadowy the answers become.
Afraid of what might happen if her family falls apart, Tara is determined to fix their relationship. But first she needs to find out what happened all those years ago…
"This story depicts how extraordinarily beautiful simple moments in time can be."
—Jennifer Dinsmore, Fiction Editor
